  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

MX ..... A suggestion

But, again, first on REDUSER, then on RED.com when ready.

Brent - can you have a look back at the first few posts in this thread?
The issue is that owners, let alone part-time users, have not been given a clear, easy-to-find guide of issues using the various common software tools for the Red MX. Reduser does not fulfill what's needed.
Seems to me that anyone wanting to know answers would naturally want to go to the Company's website homepage, and in one or two clicks, be seeing clear, current workflow issues, diagrams, solutions, and software links.

It just seems like the only professional solution to me.

The current failure in current communication methods, more than anything else, seriously lets down the whole rollout of this amazing camera.

Maybe there is a reduser RED user who has a great post solution and would make a video of the MX workflow that works (even if it is using beta or pre-beta) - just something that has worked with MX. Then at least people could all point to that video when the question comes up - it might have to be updated regularly, but someone who makes other training tapes or is trying to be a red-center for produciton or post might benefit from the exposure and the community would benefit from having an instructional source to point to and use. RED could do this as well, but I imagine their busy with the camera building and surely some third party could benefit from the exposure? Just a thought.

Nope. no videos necessary.
Simple, black and white text, pictures and diagrams.
Updated by Red, not someone in the community, immediately, and when it's necessary.
(Months ago, when the hardware's out in the wild, as far as MX is concerned).

Ok, to bring this to a close - this is not one issue, there are three.

One, stuff being posted on REDUSER before RED.com. Horse, beaten.

Two, wanting more instructional information on workflow. And, I am sure a lot more than that. We hear you and agree. Hence a new website under development. Like Rob said, making a push towards that goal on the human resource side as well.

Three, MX workflow support. FCS stuff posted today.

And soon that post will be buried too...
I'm SO with the original poster. There needs to be some easy to find central location for beta, alpha, and release software builds.
I think a sticky would be fine.
But even easier to find would be a separate category in the workflow section here. MUCH easier to point clients and post people to.
Jarred? Mods?
Can someone take on this little project?
Cheers,
Harry

I think Reducation is ment for that...

As we are in an ongoing prosess on perpetual development for redusers this thread should be allways be updated.

I wanted to add that I understand everyone's frustration with this. We've hired more people and will do better.

Thanks for the feedback!
