Hello, I am going to be editing red footage for the first time and Im a little scared. Shooting in 4k and editing in 2k on fcp. Is there anything I should really look out for? What should I be aware of besides my processor? Also, is there anyone who lives in south east michigan I can contact directly?

What is your equipament, software and camera?

First, DO NOT EDIT IN 2K! There is no reason for it, it takes way too much resources, and you most likely do not have a monitor that can view 2K.

Use one of the many tools, like Clipfinder to render out offline files for edit. 1920x1080 if you have a fast system with big monitors and can really view 1080p. But for the offline you can easily edit with 1280x720 or even SD resolution. When you have your edit done, use Clipfinder to reconform your edit to the _H 2K files.
