I was wondering if those using Anton batteries could post up some picts of the way your battery is mounted. I am looking for something other than just an Anton Plate on the Red Cradle. We mostly use Dionic 160s and Hytron 140s, and would love to get some more ideas on mounting options.

As far as mounting goes, there is no difference in which Battery system you are using. So whatever mounting version you see with V-lock batteries, should be achievable with the Anton-Bauer ones as well - just swap out the battery mount.

Element Technica makes a backing plate that attaches to an Anton Bauer QR-RED battery plate. This then allows it to attach to the camera in many ways, just like their V-Lock battery plate. It can go to an ET Quick Clamp in 19mm or 15mm, bolt directly to a top mount or accessory mount, or attach to an ET cheeseplate. Lots of options for configuring.

Another option is to go all Anton Bauer and use their top handle, hard drive and battery mount system. Tons of mounting options and a relatively low cost.

And did you know the new Anton bauer QR-RED battery mount includes a circuit that allows it to fully communicate battery status with the RED One?

Thanks for the replies guys, but I am not looking for gear to mount the battery with. I am looking to see how people are mounting them in "Real World" scenarios, ie. where are you mounting the battery, drive...etc. We have a bunch of ET stuff for mounting, along with Zacuto stuff for the Viewfinder. I am just looking for ideas as I have been exploring different options for battery and drive placement, but none I am happy with. I just really want room to grab on to the handle securely, without a bunch of stuff in the way.

Mitch, do you have a new QR battery mount, or where did you hear that it now provides battery info. I don't see it on their website, our older one does not provide the info. I may have to call them.

It was announced at NAB. I don't believe the new version is shipping yet.

Heard from Anton Bauer today about this. They have a working system, but are still completing testing. I'm sure it will be available soon.

So they found the courage to flip the two data wires at last!!!!!

It's actually a little more complicated than this on Anton Bauer batteries as there is a different communication protocol going on in the battery itself. This is in agreement between Anton Bauer & RED and it allows a deeper communication than just flipping those wires. There's a real circuit inside this battery mount.

I wonder if Anton Bauer will modify existing products for a teeny tiny fee.

Doubt it.

I also wonder if this modification is needed on the hot swap plate as well, or just the primary battery plate.
