First off, the latest RCX build is great, bugs are getting squashed by the minute! (thanks Matt for your help, new build doesn't crash anymore on my machine).

Qs: Is there a way to get rid of duplicate clips from the bins?
If I import the whole folder into the bin, it imports a whole mess of identical clips with it.

And out of curiosity, why is the camera creating identical multiple clips on longer takes?

Cheers bros,

Milan

The camera isn't creating duplicate clips on longer takes. It's splitting a single clip over multiple files. If you import one of these segmented files for a given clip into RCX, it's smart enough to find the data in the other files as well and import the entire clip.

Unfortunately there's a bug where if you use the "Open Folder" command RCX, it imports each segment individually. It then goes and finds the other segments for each (as described above), and as a consequence the entire clip effectively gets imported multiple times.

Importing clips by dragging them in from the browser panel avoids this problem. Unfortunately it won't traverse directory hierarchies automatically, so this can require navigating around and importing clips one mag at a time, depending on how your files are nested.
