Anyone have a clear answer as to what Quality the FCP L&T Plugin Debayers to? What Resolution the files are?

What are the downsides to using it?

I started out teachings students an Online with RedAlert/RedRushes in FCP 6.0.6, but now that we've migrated to 7, I'm not sure if we should change our lesson plans. It seems like EVERYONE has been asking me about L&T, and I'm pretty sure our workflow is better (for students, at least), but I can't really quantify it.

Thanks.

Debayer is high quality. for 3K and below the size is 1:1, for 4K and above size is 2:1 (1/2 size since FCP can't handle 4K and above.) As for which to use, you're best answer will probably come from reading this forum. Of course, like everything on the internet, you're likely to get all possible answers.

Wait.

Doesn't FCP 7 handle 4K?

Here's what I found. The Apple FCP site has no mention of handling 4K but I'm told that it does (I don't have 7 right now so I can't try it myself) but...the performance is low. Thus at this time we're going to leave L&T as is.
