Several weeks ago, a few of us went out and shot an extremely low/no budget piece for a Director named Alan Blake. It was an Internet spot for a NY based solar company named Green Logic.

It looks like it has just been posted up on youtube.

This was the very first time we had a chance to use my Red One camera, and the budget was almost non-existent, so please be kind with your comments.

In light of all that is going on in the Gulf of Mexico right now, I am very glad we were involved in this project.

Even though I had my full set of Red Pro Primes with me, the Director wanted to stick with the 50mm and the 85mm.

In fact, 85% of this project was shot with the 50mm Red Pro Prime.

To be honest, I was dying to shoot a little with the 35mm.

Nice job Peter. Where did you shoot the exteriors? Leave Manhattan for those?

Yeah.

Since the kids were all located in Connecticut, we traveled up there and shot in their small classroom and in a nearby park. The park grounds had completely flooded in the days leading up to the shoot, so finding unique backgrounds was really challenging.

We had little to no opportunity, besides some very basic tweaking, to color balance the final cut.

In my opinion, one or two of the shots had an odd hue to them. If you look at the girl in the purple dress, the whole frame feels overly magenta to me. I cannot tell if that is due to her dress, plus the background plants, or simply a bad on-set white balancing job on my part. :blushing:

Has anyone else found, when shooting with the Red One, that they occasionally get shots dominated by a base hue?

Great job. Good ad. The kids are wonderful.
Too bad i don't own a roof...
Shots look good. Maybe some more color grading, could have given it more of a look... but it does the job.
Great spot.
