  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Does this thing really do autofocus? I've never heard of that! That would be great under certain circumstances.

Not at the moment and no indication either way that it will in the near future, AFAIK.

No autofocus Stephen.

On the Impero there are buttons named Auto1 and Auto2. Aren't these designed to preset a focus point so that you can return to it at any time?

So you could have three focus points, a starting point and two of which are preset. Has anyone tried this?

I just sold my LCD and am now waiting for the Bomb EVF to ship so I have no way to test this!

Yeah. . . I think that's right. . . but the trouble is that it runs to the auto points as fast as it can, not with an artistic move.

Robert is a trusted and cool guy, what is offering here is a STEEL!!

Just don't install this on your R1 if still on warranty or not executed, as the Birger mounts approved by Red are linked to the camera Serial they were approved on.

However if you R1 is already executed and or out of warranty the Birger/Impero combination for Canon lenses offer a great tool!! My buddy Paolo loves his!!

The Birger/Impero system is a fantastic tool for using your Canon glass. The wireless RECORD start/stop, FF capability, and Iris control is a joy to have on a RED ONE camera.
