Wanted to know if anyone has converted a Mitchell based head to a 150mm ball head. What product would I need to do that? Is it even possible?

Call the manufacturer of the head in question. Chances are they offer it in both Mitchell and 150 or 100 mm ball, so they may have the parts to convert it.

Bogen/Manfrotto actually sells the 100mm ball part (sphere as opposed to bowl) and you could probably adapt it, but I don't think anyone sells a 150mm half ball.

I think Matthew may have the adapters backwards...those listed products will allow a 150mm head to be put onto Mitchell sticks, not convert a mitchell base head to 150mm ball. Unless of course I'm reading the original post incorrectly...

Best bet will be to contact manufacturer, as it's usually something specific to the individual head. Once you have the 150mm ball, it's easy to switch back using these quick adapters.

Cheers,
Clint

Your right, my bad. Never have had the need to go from mitchell to 150mm ball. Contact the manufacture. Good advice.

Matthew

I've got an extra one of these if you are wanting to put it on a c-40. Appears to be unused.
