Hey how come I can't keyframe any of the parameters in the RED TAb in the primary room in Color? Any way at all to make this work? Like as in if I want to keyframe color temperature to change over the course of a shot moving from interior to exterior?

Probably because the debayer isn't being done by color, but by the plugin, which would make it not keyframeable. Is there any app where you can keyframe color temps?

A temporary workaround would be to put the shots you want to keyframe on 2 tracks (or more, depending on how many color temps you want to use) and then blend them when you get back to final cut. Not the most elegant solution, but it will work in the meantime.

WHy not do the keyframe in the primary room and leave the RED tab at a preset Color Temperature?

This is a much better way to do a Color temperature shift in Color.

Because Color Temperature is WAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY different then anything offered in the primary room.....:bored:

was not even aware you could do a white balance keyframe. Done/seen plenty of other keyframing....all in the primary room though. Please keep us informed on this new development. I'm racking my brain on how i'd use it, but get it from indoor to outdoor.

Hey Tim, I tried this and it worked pretty well, like you said, not elegant but it did what I needed it to do. Thanks.

Here is another way.

Blade edit at the point you want to change color temperature so that FCP sees it as two seperate clips when it brought into color.

Select the color temperature for clip A, then clip B. Make sure your render settings have handles attached. dissolve between the shots when back in FCP.

That will save you having to work in layers in COLOR.

FCP can't do this kind of correction either. things like COlor temperature are usually fixed values. You can easily recreate two COlor temperatures by using the Vectorscope.
