I am setting up to shoot a very low budget film in Maine. The premise is a young man dealing with the recent suicide of his girlfriend. The script is written and great, moving, and easy to shoot. I am the director. I am currently planning to shoot on a GH1/5D, but if the right people get involved I may up the budget to accommodate a Red.

If you are interested in crewing/sound/dping this film please send me a message including your location, a resume, and what your day rate is. Thanks a lot.

Hi James,

I'm going to email you my info. I've shot three feature length films on HDSLR cameras - and while they are easy to move around the image quality is much better with a Red One (which by the way I'm working on getting right now...)

Here is some footage from a feature I shot on the canon Seven Dee. It's titled Winter Nights and is an official selection at the Manhattan Independent Film Festival this year:

The dates are not set in stone. The lead actress is coming up from NY and I'm still casting. The shoot is designed to be short though, hopefully 2 weeks, no more than 3.I would say sometime in June.

James I could flip my schedule around and make it work. Happy to send you the info you requested if you are happy with a F800? Would not think it is a problem at all but better to check up front.

First off, shooting on some low rent HDSLR is not going to give you the cinematic feature look you deserve. The good thing is I have a RED so your movie will be high quality for sure. If you don't have the budget you can always use credit cards or ask family. Here's a link to my reel but I haven't put in any RED footage yet because Todd won't let me borrow his compact flash card reader. Let me know what time and where I should meet you.

Awesome reel Timmy. Really powerful images. What lenses did you use for the battle footage?

definitely a KICK ASS reel!

Tell your editor it needs more star wipes. I Think Phil Bloom would hire you.

Well I'm no Timmy Ribensteiners, and chances are after that demo reel you've pulled out all the stops to book Timmy.

On the off chance that you haven't, I want to give you another possibility. Meg and I are in NH, and we could bring our production trailer up for the shoot. Camera wise I have an HPX300, HVX170, HVX200, JVC HD110, and a Dvx100.

I have matte boxes, filters, a shoulder mount, a Red Rock adapter, a steadicam (glidecam v25), dolly, 4ft slider, hi-hat, baby and full tripods, 8ft Kessler Crane, basic flag set, and a mix of daylight (Compact Fluorescent) softboxes and tungsten frensels. (I'm shopping around for a 575w HMI)

ON the audio side I have a Sound Devices 442, MM-1, MP-1, a pair of stereo matched Schoeps CMC641's, a pair of AT4073a shotgun mics, boom poles, zeppelin, ball gag, etc. The 300 has lectro unislot receiver, 2 lavs (LMa & MM400), a tram 50, countryman b6, and the standard lectro lav mics.

I'm self taught, and I've worked on a couple of pilots, an online dance studio, and several interviews. Meg went to NY Film Academy in LA, and and she's worked for universal, reality TV, a couple of features in portland, and one of the monster house type shows.

Let me know if we can help you create a well produced feature. We're booked June 23rd-28th with an event that can't be moved.
