I finally had time to play around with the Core i7 Mac Book Pro tonight. I applied the Eyeone Display 2's monitor calibration and noticed that the dark area looked little lifted. I thought since LCD display don't have the contrast control, maybe the calibration didn't fine adjust that but what I found out was little disappointing. I played around with the angle of the display, then I noticed that the contrast changes. The long story short, the LCD display has narrow viewing angle vertically. Worse than the horizontal viewing angle range. I have to make sure to look at it from straight when I make color adjustment.

Be careful that your not encountering the auto brightness, put your finger over the isight on the lid and see does the brightness change.

When you do situate yourself at the "sweet spot" viewing angle, the colors are surprisingly accurate! In most cases, the auto-brightness is way too bright, but since you're (very wisely) doing a calibration, you should be able to get great results within the sweet spot.

Naturally, the auto brightness is off.

True, I like how it looks calibrated at the sweet spot, but the sweet spot being narrow is the problem. I calibrate all of my monitors and displays with Klein K10/Calman and Eyeone Display 2. Comparing to K10/Calman which costs $7k, I'm surprised that Eyeone Display 2 could get close to K10/Calman result. So, I'm used to calibrated environment and among all the other displays that I go through, still disappointed with the narrow sweet spot on Mac Book Pro. One of my four year old Eizo has better vertical viewing angle.
