So there's been a surge of improvements to rotoscoping due to machine learning techniques. We've seen the Rotobrush 2 in AE and the Green Screen tool from https://runwayml.com/ while Resolve doesn't technically use it for rotoscoping, it has a way to one-click a person to get a mask in color grading.

Are all of these based on the same kind of technique? And are there any more alternatives? Which can be coined as being the best?

Played around with the Rotobrush a lot but haven't checked Runway's tool in-depth as I don't like the "do it in the browser" philosophy that's in any practical application for high res video, a bit stupid (needs to be integrated into the compositing software).

What can we expect going forward with this?
