You know what ? I was wondering the other day if Panavision and RED will use the Komodo to make a small DXL... Like "DXL-ize" the Komodo.
I know the difference between DXL and DSMC2/Ranger Monstro is the body designed by Panavision + the light iron color science inside (but since it works with Log3G10, it seems more of a Color Space/gamut than a whole Color Science to me) so I wonder if they will do something aounrd the Komodo "platform"

    Bastien,

My first thought was that it probably wouldn't be worth it for Red to do. But maybe a Komodo with a few more In/Out ports integrated like maybe XLR, Thunderbolt, USB-C 2.1 an additional SDI port whatever would be nice.

You can use the DXL2 transforms on Komodo footage right now if you want.

I don't think there's any reason to do a DXL version of Komodo. The whole point in a production like this one is to use Komodo as it's intended, as a crash cam or action cam. I can see a lot of action scenes in this series that would make good use of Komodo.

Yes. Just after posting I downloaded that and tested on Joey Helms footage ;-)

Those are old, no? The white paper included says to process in RedLogFilm and DragonColor1 prior to the LUT.

Maybe they should have cut back on the "Haze" just a lil bit.

I think there's a Lut that deserves more of your time and one that actually came from RED called the "FILMBIAS" Lut It's included in the "RED Creative LUT Kit" update 3/10/2021. I'm using ACEScct and DavinciWideGamut workflows these days. However, when I use an IPP2 workflow in either "Color Managed" or Lut based this is awesome!

    Download link
    https://www.red.com/download/red-creative-lut-kit

Here is an example .R3d from Luigi Valtulini of an image with some really bad yellow skintones.

Example 1-Image with no "filmbias" or "Hue Shift" added

Example 2-Image with "filmbias" no "Hue Shift" added

Example 3-Image with both "filmbias" and "Hue Shift" added

Another Example of the "FilmBias" Creative Lut

Here's another example of Phil Hollands Red Sample Image at 4200 Kelvin and 0 Tint in an IPP2 Color Managed Workflow with just the "FilmBias" Creative Lut added to One Node.

    After FilmBias
