Default Arri DR Test...

As promised... we are now looking at the Arri DRTC dynamic range test. Graeme and Deanan are preparing the images, charts and stuff they have collected and I'll add those to this post when they are done.

It appears that the M-X sensor sits at 13.5 stops on their test at 1st blush.

As many have pointed out before... DR is not the only criteria that should be used to judge the overall performance of a camera. We include price, convenience, service, resolution, color, post workflow, and reliability... among other things. But it is nice to know that the M-X sensor is right up there with the best of the newest.

Jim,

well said.

That's exactly why a lot of people are R1 users.

13.5 stops is pretty spectacular. I hope the 2/3" is within a stop or so of that figure. Any idea yet how it will fair?
