You can't really compare time lapses with video mode. Time lapses can be shot in higher resolution than video on either 5d or 7d. Time lapses might hold up well with Red footage. Video is another story.

The crop is very 'lol' worthy. 7d having an lsd moment.
Its a nice standard def cam. Mostly, I love the dynamic range.

You should add a 5d to the mix.

Seeing a zone plate like this is what made me decide not to get a 7D. A 550d on the other hand... I think this kind of quality is worth about 800 bucks -- not 1500.

What's with the green shift (Red MX) at the higher frequencies?

If I wasn't in India right now the M-X would be all mine.

It's amazing what you guys have accomplished. Revolutionaries!

Calibration issues we have talked about several times.

I also agree with Issac B. I don't mean to sound negative, but I don't what you (or anyone else for that matter) hope to achieve by comparing a $1700 prosumer STILL camera to $17,000+ professional MOTION PICTURE CAMERA. Seems like a waste of time. Although a lot of people seem to make those comparisons (god knows why), I just thought you guys would know better/be above all that. Like people say, break out the Scarlet and the 7D & 5D will be a thing of the past.

Yup, I know, I know - just waiting until Scarlet so I can put my 7D out to pasture.
