We are putting together some RED ONE Mysterium-X cameras for upgrade testing and a couple of high profile directors have run them through their paces. The 1st AC had a big smile on his face after seeing the results and gave this quote.
"To me, the new sensor is the biggest leap I've seen RED achieve. We rated the sensor at ISO 500 and did not see any noise in the blacks in low level lighting situations. The image is super clean." Steve Meizler 1st Assistant Camera on Saving Private Ryan, Artificial Intelligence: AI, Ocean's Twelve, War of the Worlds, Ché, The Informant, Social Network, among several others. Steve has been 1st AC on four feature films (and a few commercials) shot on RED... I expect that we will have more quotes as the cameras get into the hands of a few more pros. Jim

Ship one down South and I'll give you two quotes.

Hey Jim. If you need any low profile directors to try one out... I'm your man.

Great news indeed! Clean at ISO 500....I wish 35mm Negative could do that.

Jim, given his enthusiastic rating... how would your design team rate the sensor's iso?
-J.A.Brown P.S. Glad to hear it's out in the wild.

I dream of how noise free the Monstro Sensor will be at ISO 800.

Congratulations to that achievement!
I hope this approval of a professional AC is a satisfying reward for all your hard work. Many to come :) How do you celebrate?
