Default "Driver w/ Final Cut Pro Experience" - craigslist

Yes that's right folks, they need drivers (as in, cars) with can also run editing software. Hopefully not at the same time...

Well they probably want really good multi-taskers who can drive and edit at the same time.

Maybe they're looking FCP users who can drive?
Kinda harsh to imply FCP users can't drive although
there is one famous colorist (initials AD) who doesn't drive :)

That's pretty typical in the ad industry. You need to be able to answer the phone, take messages, go to the post office, gather and take out the trash, go get lunch for everybody (if you are low man on the totem pole), take the boss to the airport… Oh, and build an ad that's on deadline… did I forget anything?

I was hoping the filmmaking industry wasn't going in that direction.

Yes. It pays $10 an hour. No overtime, no health insurance.

But you get 30 minutes every day for lunch.

I always do my best editing while I'm driving aimlessly around town...

$10/hour? WTF? The ad must be bogus or the company hiring is new to the game. They're supposed to pay a salary of $21K/year so you think it works out to $10/hour at 40hrs/week. But in reality they work you 60+ hours per week... Oh, and you have to drive your own vehicle and pay for gas, etc.. yourself.

Gives the phrase "race to the bottom" a whole new layer of meaning, eh?

Well you know what they say- if you want Final Cut to work right, make sure you've got all the right drivers...

We prefer our FCP editors to also have basic carpentry skills and their own tools.
