If you don't use a side CF module, there is also an EVF / LCD output available on the PRO I/O Module......

Good to know. The pro I/O module looks huge and would defeat the purpose of removing the side CF module (I remember there used to be an LCD port on the top of the unit itself, but this may have changed). Still, nice to have at least a couple of options.

Just a quick question... I was wondering if the batteries and Hd's from the R1 will be compatible with the epic?

What do you think this is Canon? Of course they will be compatible with the epic.

Ummm that's wrong...it's the R1 with the new sensor at 4.5K , it's on recon. The new chip for epic only comes in a few weeks time...

I have posted my pics on Flickr. They don't really show the camera that well, but you can see how crowded it was, just after the presentation. The camera looks awesome.
