we will have an x-sync (pc) port.. which you can drive pocket-wizards from directly or via a xsync to hotshoe adapter

( isn't it so convenient that those hot shoe adapter have 1/4 20 screw holes and we have a nice row of 1/4 20"s on top of the brains :) )

Hey Jarred any idea on the flash sync speed. Please continue to put the beat down on the comp and go 1/500 at least. That would huge.

Yes ! Neither the D3X nor the Canon 1Ds MKIII can sync faster than 200 or 250. I hear photographers and assistants bitching about this all of the time.

500 sync speed would be one of those little features that would put DSMC in a class with Hasselblad and Mamiya medium format cameras (which all sync @ 500).

That sounds great. Better start selling off the old and getting ready for the new.

Except that Hassy sync at 1/800 and the Mamiya used for MFDB's sync at 1/90... The Rollei re-brands syncs at 1/1000.
Hassys that sync at 1/500 is the old ones which are hardly usefull for modern comercial studios as the tolerances are not good enough for critical focusing after some use.
MHO.

you need to look at the whole system and not just the limitations of leaf or focal shutters .. The original Pocket wizards have a hard time past 1/250th of a second.. the new ones with Hypersync (which i havn't used yet) are supposed to solve that issue.

Only with speedlights. Those are system specific, Canon or Nikon only.
