I also have to give special thanks to DIT Steve Freebairn who pioneered the power behind custom, automated mobile dailies which he and I have used on numerous projects together, including Pirates. Thanks to the power of the iPad, mobile dailies infrastructures like OUTPOST are able to compress time, not just files. -That is another big step in the right direction for increasing creative control on any project, small or large.

Here are a couple pics of our OUTPOST system (there are 2 on Undercovers-one for main unit and 1 for second unit) which Brian operates on location and on the stage. One element I encourage everyone to consider from this discussion is cost. By mobilizing the dailies process (which gets better literally by the week due to custom software and hardware improvements) we find that traditional laboratory budgets actually decrease by a minimum of 15%. With the right talent and infrastructure, the more you mobilize on set, the more your dollars are able to amortize and stretch -all the while delivering instant feedback with sound, picture, grading in 2D and even 3D real-time playback all from one system.

Seems to me like that's just one opinion.

I wouldn't grade on it, but I believe grading is better done in a dark theater under super controlled conditions.

This is the link to the monitor http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/p...284&redirect=1

The current price is several hundred less than before, super great deal (I should sell these things for a living :)
Why wouldn't you grade on it..? anything off about the color..?

Pricewise it goes for $1,100 but recent Dell reviews show people buying it
for $800 and $900 on Dell Deals Sales.

I was worried that this monitor wasn't going to be worth the money,
but Dell has certainly outdone themselves. Keep in mind that
I got it on the Dell Deals Sale for $799 plus tax which is an absolute steal.

Dell Days of Deal price of $900 helped me pull the trigger.
