I have been trying to start my output for a new project. When I have all my settings setup on Redrushes, I then click the Start button. The blue line moves very quickly to the end (in a matter of seconds), but the clips progress is still at 0%. I have tried many different things and don't know what is going on. I haven't renamed the clips or folders. They are all native to how the Red recorded them.
My Red footage is in a perfectly working external hard drive. And I have an older Macbook Pro with Final Cut 7. My Render is: Half Res (Standard) - Timecode External/TOD Look Source Camera, Color Space Look Source, Camera Space Look source My Resize is: (scale is checkmarked) 1920x 1080, Fit Width and Resample is CatmulRom My Output is: Output Format is Quicktime Movie, Apple ProRes. Everything else is untouched and I'm not trying to burn in timecode. I am trying to output to the same external hard drive. I switched the output to my desktop but the program did the same thing. Any help would be greatly appreciated! |

try updating your software to a newer version if you are running old Red Rushes. Or make the switch to RedCineX for transcoding.

Red Rushes is no longer supported. So depending on what build the footage was shot with, it may or may not be compatible with the version of Red Rushes and REDLINE being used. REDLINE has been updated, but Red Rushes has not. There could be lots of potential problems here and it's too hard to guess without knowing more information.

It sounds like you have "illegal" characters (@#$%& etc) somewhere in the file path, any folders named with those characters containing R3D's will not transcode.
Also if they shot with an M-X chip camera and/or with build 30 of the camera firmware, RedRushes will not recognize the camera metadata and the shots will transcode as Raw - not good. RedCine-X does an excellent job on M-X/build 30 footage, try it! It works just as well with non-M-X/non build 30 as well. |
