Very exciting!

Can't wait to see the whole system together.

Great work!

I don't get it. What does that mean exactly? That we can see beyond the frame but the image quality isn't as good? Are you making them FF35 but don't yet know if you will get enough quality our of the edges for those prices?

I've got it!

It's a lens adapter that takes a spherical image and stretches it out for recording on the ultra-wide 30x15mm sensor. Then the image is "squeezed" in post production to get a 4:3 image. Anamorphic in reverse!

That would be swheet... a lot of messing around for that though... tough downsampled to 2k it shouldn't be much of an issue, probably impossible to notice. Sort of as "taking everything the lens can give you". Could that be?

Default 30mm x 15mm

Right now there are two lenses, TODAY that provide a 31.1mm diagonal coverage of the frame, they are; The Angenieux OPTIMO DP Series 16mm - 42mm T2.8, and the 30mm – 80mm T2.8. They have been optimized for 4K and 5K cameras.

I’m not really sure what the Arri Master Primes image coverage area is; it’s absent from all of their literature; I did see something in one of the threads that it was 31mm, but I’m really not sure. Does anyone know?

The long and short of it all is that this sensor size gives exponentially more options...

Jim if we mount one of these babies on a FF35 scarlet (or any s35 pl lens for tha matter). Will we be able to use the full frame for look around and record just the s35?

I would think not, because don't you need a lens that covers the whole sensor for full frame look around? The camera needs to "look around" somehow.
