Hi Percy,
I've been so busy with my company's product development I haven't had time to even think about the Red Camera right now. I'll be here in China for a long time so I am more than a little nervous about having the camera "Expressed" here as my experience with shipments to China is they get damaged very often. Whatever I do to get the camera, I'll be happy to work with you when it comes...
Richard
Hello, I am Andrew Cheng, award winning producer/director of film "Shanghai Panic" and "Welcome to Destination Shanghai", as well as among the first person to introduce DV revolution to China 10 years ago. I am based in Shanghai and plan to produce/direct 8 features shooting with RED Camera within this year. I myself have already reserved 2 reds. Experienced DPs and post guys in digital cinema are needed for cooperation. If you want to come over to China and enjoying the kind of experiences in Shanghai, Tibet, Yunnan, etc., Pls contact me through: filmshanghai@yahoo.com.cn
Hi Andrew & Percy,
Please check your private message.
Thanks.
I am at the moment based in ShenZhen / Hong Kong. Depending on how the next few months work out, I might be moving back to Toronto, Canada, or stick around here for good.
I have #1314 Red One Reservation # and would like to get to know other Red Reservation Holders aroudn the area.
I have been mainly concentrating on post production coordination (documentary and tv series), but am switching gears towards independant production.
Look forward to hearing from you guys!
Cheers,
MK

Dear Andrew..
I have a full post facilities hee in Hong Kong..
I am happy to do some testing with you and Derek, to se how RED goes.
I also have a Barco 2K Theatre here.
Did you guys know RED will develop their own 4K projectors and displays soon, do we really need a BLACK BOX type of Post house here in HKG ?
The rent of space in HKG is Fxxking expensive, and I hope to give Directors / DOPs more options to play that they can afford rather they can not afford to pay just because the quality is " Overpaid " but not last for longer.
4K to 1080P is becoming " REAL ", Mr.Peter Jackson did it for himself, and if you go HD from now on, to me - JVC HD Cameras + Primes Lenses recorded onto Disk ( uncompressed ) is supervalue than Soon Only Not Yet
with only in 8 bit 3:1:1 on Tape.
Film is Film, HD is HD, and 4K is a " New Blood " to make the D-film world change not just a little bit but .................time will tell.
Many 4K D-Films / Concerts / Events are cooking Not just here, but there and everywhere.
Cheers,
Stewart
