I'm going to try to squeeze time between two shoots to make it up there. It looks very exciting.

    Great to have this going.

Quick question for you Wisconsin owner/operators. I have an issue in which all of my current contacts and clients are too cheap to pay for RED, so it's not really getting any action. Having trouble leaving the HD client base. Anyone else dealt or dealing with this? Haven't been in the 4K league very long, I'm a Battle Tested owner, in need of a few pointers.

    Hey Luke,

Wisconsin is such a small market that one or two more REDS could over saturate the market. Give them good reasons to have a 4k negative. Sadly though, 90% of the market in Wisconsin only needs a good HD image. This is one of the reasons I left a few years ago. Now when I get calls for productions in Wisconsin I just bring the gear up with me.

    Hey Luke,

I've expereinced the same thing somewhat. I will say that the further I dig and network, I'm astounded by the number of filmmakers and filmmaking groups I'm finding in Wisconsin, and amongst those filmmakers, is a huge pent-up interest in shooting on RED. There's really 2 challenges:
    1) Tapping into all those groups. I don't know how filmmakers nationwide are, but in WI, they are incredibly insular. WI film festivals are a great example. You can go to a WI film festival, and the vast majority of the WI-made films that show, you've never even heard a whisper of before. There does need to be incentive to get people out of the mindset of keeping everything so close to the vest. Having access to a RED does that.
    2) Turning all that enthusiasm into actual rentals. As you said, there is a cheapness to many clients and filmmakers, and they do have trouble leaving behind HD. Funding is always a challenge, but there are a few tactics you can try, which I'd be more than happy to share with you if/when we have a WI RED owners get together.

    Hey guys,

Just wanted to pass the word in case you know anyone interested on a SCARLET-X-AL-CANON-MOUNT-COLLECTION plus several more items I am selling. When I purchase this beautiful equipment I really had the intention to make great use of it as a heavy-hobby- Unfortunately my "real" professional has taken a turn where more responsibilities have been given to me and it is now obvious I do not have time to invest on this craft. I am located in western Wisconsin.

I if you know of anyone interested - please let me know

    See "For sale thread"

I'd love to see this meetup become a reality, but since that would take some organization, I'll make a counter-offer. Any Epic owners want a free beer or coffee in Milwaukee?
