the 60mm macro is gorgeous, has a very long focus throw and is pin sharp wide open at f2.8

Yup the 60 macro is great. As is the 100. But we use the 60 more. Something about it.

This might seem like a simple question and something I could search out myself but I thought I would check here. I recently tried the Metabones Speed booster Ultra with my Leitax converted Contax and the aperture tab hits the electronics of the Speed booster holding the lens wide open. Is there a Metabones Speed booster that doesn't do this? Is the only option the straight mount adapter I have been using?

    Thanks

Ted, you have to file the tab down a bit. I opted not to do it at this time for my M4/3 cameras. But with the Metabones you need to. Not sure about the other 3rd party speedboosters out there.

Ah .. Well then there you go.. Thanks Steve. I thought there had to be something considering the number of people out there using the Meta Bones Speed Booster. Thanks for the feed back.

The cheap 'dumb' Camdiox focal reducer works well and doesn't obstruct any of the Contax iris tabs.

Hey guys, here's a recent shoot we did, all outdoors, all natural light. Indie budget.

Shot on two Epic Dragons, A-Cam was on a 16mm and 24mm Standard Prime, and B-Cam on the iconic Contax 35-70 (comes on every job now).

With a simple auto-white balance, the Standard Primes and the classic Zeiss zoom matched perfectly.

A lot of the very shallow shots are the Contax 35-70 - that zoom is a beautiful piece of glass. I know I talk about it a lot, so wanted you guys to see it in action.

The wides are the Standards - we love how little distortion they have, and how incredible they are with human faces, even at those wider focal lengths.

Much kudos as always to my Small Giant team - every gig is a blast. And thanks also to Jake Blackstone for these impeccable dailies grades.

    Hope you enjoy.
