Maybe this is why Red is holding back on announcing new lenses

Reduced chromatic aberration, lighter, fewer (none?) moving parts, radical new technology. What's not to like?

For some reason I keep thinking the thread title is for a video game...
Anyhow,
The RED lenses I have a feeling will be like that red electronic lens that was on the projector - looked compact, not sure about weight but hey its RED and electronic...
So if anything its not long till we see the entire prime line with electronic abilities...probably a debut with the new RED Mote Pro
I mean its cool tech, flat lenses - but probably still years off from being used in cinema lenses
Though imagine a whole new MP edition with that tech and Leica's with them...
Wonder how much these lenses made of gold will cost ;)
That's cool, but I want a jetpack first. That would be cooler.

Wasn't the lens on the projector at nab a pl red pro 50mm?
Curious to see an image created by these lenses, or even an image of the lens itself.
They are talking primarly telecom applications currently (think fiber), and the descriptions I've read here and elsewhere seem to indicate pretty narrow bandwidth... it would be interesting to see if they can design versions that pass the entire visible spectrum...

I wish the RED would just break the bank on lenses, and make the lightest, and fastest lenses around... Think... Master, Ultra Primes. That's what I want from RED lenses, and I believe most of us would pay top dollar for them.
