Curious if anyone has had issues playing out 5K HD files (4800 x 2700)?
Oddly enough when I'm playing back on the Laptop at 1/4 resolution it works, but when I'm opening on the desktop with a Rocket Card, 3 Quadro 4000's, and a Blackmagic Design extreme 3D, no go! Everything else has been flawless on both systems. I love this software, but this is definitely a little glitch. Just curious if it's specific to my system or if anyone is experiencing some hiccups.

    Thanks in advance!

Premiere has challenges with multiple GPUs; perhaps that is your issue.

See these active threads, and try working in a non-gpu accelerated project.

Thanks Cory.... The threads were helpful but I think I discovered the culprit. Turns out the RedRocket isn't happy with 5K HD material as a realtime output device for Premiere. Perhaps it's just a driver thing.... don't know yet. Disabling the RR for that resolution fixes it immediately. My Quadro 4000 cards handle the material with no glitches up to 1/2 res monitoring so no worries there.

    Thanks again!

Marc, when you have a moment, please try this: enable RR and set Premiere playback resolution to FULL.

On my system, Premiere 6.0.1 refuses to use RR when playback resolution is set to lower than FULL. Of course, Full rez playback of 5K footage is not very smooth with a single RR, but 4K and lower resolutions play smoothly.

    Marc,

I got around to shooting some 5k HD files and sure enough - with a Red Rocket (and in my case a single GPU) I am having playback issues at 1/2 and 1/4 resolutions)
I'm not seeing this bug without a Rocket (same as you) and if I disable the Rocket 1/4 res works fine. A fine bug worth further investigation.

Thanks for the report. I will log it and keep you posted.
