Jeffery be sure to check your settings in your exposure, contrast settings camera menu. You may have something turned up.
Also have you loaded these things into REDCine X and looked at them there? I would suggest opening in REDCine and then trying different ISO settings and see if any of them removes the noise

That the signal is limited to 100% is not based on the binary format 0 and 1.

I did check the settings, both at 0, neither turned up. I did, and nothing removes the noise, i've thought for awhile it might just be my sensor? Or maybe i'm crazy haha, we did a blue screen shoot that was really well lit and it came out horrible, almost un-useable.

Easy to tell you've done a lot of research here.. I am begining to think you need to send the camera in as well. But first how about a couple screen shots of what you see?

Sure thing! I'll PM them though unless you think it'll help the thread.

At this point I would say I'd love to hear the results of this, but I think it's always best to deal with RED directly in private. Remember RED's friends are not the only ones viewing the forum, and so they have to be careful not to give them unnecessary ammo. A phone call allows them to deal with you in a much more direct fashion.

Also, if you can find another EPIC / SCARLET owner in your area a side by side comparison of footage would certainly put to rest any thoughts of the camera's performance... If you showed a noisy shot and the other didn't, then it's a good bet you need to send it in.

Not sure if you have this ability.

    Hi Jay,

I'm sure that you are doing a lot to keep up with the courses, and i hesitated a lot before posting this, but i think it will help. My impressions :
    1. The course is pricey
    2. We need first RED training before courses on third party products (there are a lot (too much) out there that can be reviewed)
    3. The way you talk about third party products (pricing, promotional offers) makes me think that it's also about selling products instead of education ONLY
    4. You keep always promising new courses
    5. My subscription ended in a blink of an eye and i didn't learn that much.
    7. I didn't renew

    The positive things :
    1. I like your teaching style
    2. The courses on exposure, ISO... are great
    3. We need this initiative

Hope this will contribute in a positive way

Before I respond let me ask a question.. Were you on the 1 month or 3 month program?

Hey Victor, I tried to find your membership by last name.. No luck so I'll run along here. If you joined a single month membership, then I fear you have a point. We really need to cancel those and stay with 3 month deals. They are less expensive per month, and they allow us to get enough stuff online to make everyone happy. The videos can be very complex and they take more than a week to do sometimes. I.E. Just two days ago we uploaded two more.

As for price.. The gold memberships are $28.95 per month.. That's lower than most others around.

As for third party stuff.. A couple things on that.
1: Out of 38 videos currently online, there are 4 3rd party videos. None of them are reviews, they are installation and operation videos. We don't do review videos... Ever.. You're right, there's enough of that.
The only video I did pricing on was the Carbonite Scope and that bit me in the ass.. Won't do that again.

I did throw out general pricing on the Canon lenses, but that was to help people try to understand the cost vs PL mount lenses.

Our service included downloadable videos, that is a HUGE deal. Very few do that.

I think where people are getting burned is in the one month memberships. We made them cause people that wanted to RENT the cameras were not happy hey had to commit to 3 months.. It made sense, so we made created something for them..

I have to say though, they are causing more trouble than they are avoiding.

Victor write me privately and I'll get you another month free of charge. We're putting up some cool stuff you should see.
