Until I learn differently, I'm going to have to say that audio and scene detection are not working together.
I have tried importing a baked file and placing it in the timeline un-touched and it plays back fine, then added the same file to the timeline after scene detection and the chopped up clips do not play back with the proper audio. At first it seemed as if it may be a playback phenomenon, but the mis-match follows through the render process.

Peter,
It is a great upgrade. I ran into issues with render cache which does not seem to work, but setting the RED decode and the decklink video out to 10 bit seems to fix it. Otherwise no matter how much you render cache it does not help playback. I'm so stoked that Resolve 9 with single RR and dual GTX285 plays back 4K/30fps R3D footage at half premium/10bit in realtime (with primary color grading).
I'm also disappointed that the 4th trackball on the Element doesn't control the offset for log. I understand you want to keep certain features available for your own panel, but why that one when it's so important? I, and probably many many others, can't justify spending $28K on a color correction panel when there's options that are nearly a tenth of the price and even much less than that. If BM priced the panel more competitively they might sell A LOT more of them. If they were the same price as the Element BM might sell dozens at that price for every one they currently sell at $28K. Also, we have to keep in mind that the BM panel only works with Resolve, whereas the Element panel works with Resolve, RedCine-X Pro (now that 16 is out), Scratch, Lustre, ColorFront, and others Tangent says they're working on. And if I'm working on set, using different tools and programs such as RCXP, Resolve, Scratch, ColorFront, etc. do I want to have one panel for all or do I want to drag 2 different panels with me? It's difficult to justify the BM panel at $28K in these cases.
Bad: I had some QT gamma shift on Windows 7 X64 when rendering out to a DNxHD in a Quicktime container :(
Speedgrade does the same thing, but at least they had a checkbox fix. Not sure if there is one in Davinci.
Thanks for posting about the Beta update Patrick! I was just sitting here procrastinating about my improving my resolve skills; I'm definitely enjoying version 9 (so far).
I'm having trouble with some RED Epic footage...
I've made a light grading in REDCine X (temperature and a little of Red Green Blue channel adjustment).
The problem is that Resolve 9 cannot see (at least, that's happening to me) the corrections made at the individual channels (curve and slider for each channel).
Does Resolve read all the correction made in REDCine or only some of them??
Thanks
So are you saying the BMD panel should be $3500?........that panel was $60,000 before BMD got hold of it.
woz
Hi Filippo, in v9, try the 'user metadata curves' checkbox in the Camera Raw palette on the color page to see if that helps your issue.
