Red updates their cameras too fast.

Every time I get around to updating my Scarlet, within a day or two, Red releases a update that is even better.

    First world problems :(

    Thanks!

RED kicks ass ! Updated my scarlet camera and the redmote ... both work perfectly (my first time I have updated a redmote too). Everything seems super smooth ;)

Is this an official firmware or a beta? Very intrigued by the "AF improvements."

No embedded audio??? I was really tempted to install fw 3 when it was first announced, but held back as I was in the middle of shooting a feature. Now that it's wrapped, I installed 3.3.3 just in time for the arrival of my PROIO. One thing I noticed is that there is no audio embedded in the HDSDI unless the audio is input into the Brain instead of the PROIO. Then I saw that 3.3.4 had a "Fix initialization of audio channels in PROIO". I thought that must have been the problem, but installing 3.3.4 made no difference. Am I missing some menu item here? I see in menus Audio/Video>Audio Control>Volume Out that there are only controls for CAM L & R. Shouldn't there be controls for PROIO output? Is this a bug?

Did you set up the audio channels to use the PRO I/O inputs ?

Yes. Audio into 3 & 4 on PROIO is being recorded fine and playing back. It's just not embedded in the HDSDI. It's not showing up in the PIX 240 or external monitor through HDSDI.

    Hi Jared,

I'm out of the loop on the mention of your injuries, but I send my best wishes for recovery and hope they're not too serious.

Can you elaborate any on what the AF improvements are? I'm pretty happy to stay with 3.3.3 for now unless the AF enhancements are substantial.

Do you think we will be able someday to use magnify during record mode? Even if it is not 1:1 ?
