just been trying to export a test file for a job I have tomorrow in London UK. I am unable to export a file with audio in v 15. I opened the same file in v 14 and export had the audio - using the same export preset. Is this a bug in v 15 ?

Can you post and/or email redcinex at red dot com with the duplication for this issue you are experiencing? Can you also include/attach the export preset you are using. We'll be able to better deduce what the issue is you're seeing. Thanks.

anyone else having it crash when transcoding? happened to me 3 times on set yesterday.

red rocket setup going to prores422 from 5k 1.9.1 with a light grade and 16x9 crop.

Hello --

I may have had the same problem. Under the Export tab, try changing any setting under video or audio, and clicking OK. For example, change the frame rate to something 'wrong' and click OK enough to get you back to where you can Cancel the Export. Repeat, only this time change back to the 'correct' setting and now do the Export. If I got this right, it will get you your audio back. If this does not work, contact RED Support.

thanks I will try this. If it works it would suggest that presets created in earlier version do not work and they must effectively be re-saved in v 15.
Anyway I will give it a go and report back.

When exporting avid MXF+ALE from R3D and Synced BWF files some data fields are lost.


Of particular importance is the "TRK"x metadata fields which usually label mic placement
TRK1-TRK64.




BWF metadata when the BWF is imported directly looks like this:
TRK1 MIX
TRK2 LAV
TRK3 DANCER
TRK4 PLANT


etc.


That information is not passed by RCX to the ALE file, but Scene & Take metadata is passed.


Also, "CIRCLED" and "NOTES" fields are not passed wich would be useful.

Tested with RCX B15 with Symphony6/DS11

Correct, the TRK# fields were removed in build 13 as they where causing Avid MC6 to crash on ALE load.
We are awaiting word from Avid on what to name them from now on.

We'll look into adding Circled and Notes.

Any word on the exporting of snapshots. Works for about 5 or 6 then just displays "running" without exporting?

In 16 I am no longer able to select "Output with clip file name to selected folder" and it's outputting to the parent folder of the one I select and adding the destination folder I chose to the beginning of the file name.

"Output with clip file name to selected folder" has been changed to "Custom Output". If you select the "Custom Output" option from the drop-down in the export preset window, you can then set you base output folder path (your parent folder) as well as a dynamic output folder path if you choose to. This should work for you. Let us know if it does not. Thanks.
