WHY oh WHY does footage look really great in the monitor and "crappy" in the PC?

Eizo screens are awesome. Never had problems, but samsung led cosumer screens are pretty good to.

Is there an external box like the BM box that doesnt depend on USB3 to use with a Mac laptop?

Ive had a great time with the BM Ultrastudio 3D, though it's Thunderbolt only and a bit pricey, works great on MacBook.
