Having the same trouble here. The edit in PPro is great, export to EDL and grade in RCX is excellent, then the next step gives me nothing.

    Will,

The issue presented by the OP was fixed in build 15, which is available as a download or auto update.

    Thanks,
    David

I have build 15. It's going from RXC into Ppro. The file comes in but nothing on the timeline.

Is this a new topic? Please create a new thread. Yes, I'm able to grade in rcx and see it in ppro just fine. Make sure to reload your rmds or download the rmd refresh utility posted in the red adobe forum.

Not a new topic. I'm having trouble seeing any footage in Pr. because it's a blank timeline and bin. What exports setting are you using to get the RCX grade back into Pr. color graded?

I'm not clear on you whole workflow so I can't offer troubleshooting help without it. Here are a couple workflows I use that answer your question of "getting RCX graded R3D into premiere":

    Grade RCX -> Premiere
    -Open R3d in rcx
    -Grade
    -Save RMD
-Import R3D to Premiere and edit pre-graded R3Ds as desired

Edit Premiere -> Grade RCX -> Refresh Premiere
    - Import and edit R3Ds in a premiere sequence
    - Export sequence via FCP XML
    - Import FCP XML in RCX
    - Go through RCX timeline and grade clips, saving RMDs
    - Go into premiere and either a) right-click each clip in project panel, source settings, reload RMD; or b) download the RMD refresh utility I mentioned.
    http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthr...e-Premiere-Pro

There isn't much need to roundtrip the timeline itself from premiere to RCX and back again to premiere. You only need that for relinking proxies.

Now here is a more complex example with proxies:
Proxy Edit -> Grade RCX -> Premiere
    - Generate proxies from all R3Ds (I use dnxhd, but any format should work the same)
    - Edit proxies on some platform (say FCP or Premiere)
    - Export FCP XML
    - Import FCP XML in RCX and relink proxies to R3Ds
    - Go through timeline and grade clips, saving RMDs
    - Export FCP XML in RCX
    - In premiere, import RCX FCP XML; All clips and timeline should load with pregrade
If you wish to adjust the grade, do so in source settings, or go back to RCX, load the clip and grade, then in premiere reload RMD.

As far as settings used on import or export, all the defaults are satisfactory except on the FCP XML import for proxies, I choose to replace unknown stuff with slugs.

    - Having trouble bring my RCX grade back into Ppro -

In RCX. EXPORT > "Send FCP XML to Pr"

I then close RCX, open the XML I just saved with Ppro.

Premier Opens the project, no timeline. Sequence time is 0:00.

I can see the individual clips in the bin, but there's no timeline that I had editing previously in Ppro.

Are you suggestion to save each file graded in RCX individually?

Then go to Ppro back to my original timeline edit.

Right Click my cuts individually, "Reveal in Project" to find the clip in the bin.
Then right click the clip in the bin, go to "source settings..."
Inside the source settings window, click "reload from RDM." Then "Ok"

Well that works, but I thought Ppro had this figured out to save us time? Which is why I am persistent with the question. Is the RCX export unusable in Ppro at the moment? Or am I possibly exporting my RCX grade incompetently to Ppro?

    AWAITING UPDATE. TROUBLE SHOOTING underway.....

The round trip with Premier Pro and RCX Pro does work, here's the exact steps.

Edit in Ppro to your hearts delight. When you are ready for a RCX grade: "Export > Final Cut Pro XML"

    Open RCX. "File > Import"

Point RCX to the directory of where the RED media is. Click "Import" and point to the Final Cut Pro XML you previously created.

    Grade in RCX.

Having some trouble on the next step. The files come in, but they are not graded. Maybe the older 4k footage from our R1 is part of the trouble with saving RMDs. Testing on new epic footage now.
CONFIRMED: Editing in 5k epic footage the round trip works. Didn't realize older 4k R1 M would have trouble. Is there a way to update older R1 footage to work with RCX-Ppro round trip?

    Will update....
