When I export the whole timeline, I choose File/Export Shallow/FCP XML

I haven't seen the FCP XML to PR option.

In premiere cs6, then I right-click in the project panel, choose import, select the xml and it all comes in, clips and timeline in a 5k sequence.

Then go to Ppro back to my original timeline edit.

Right Click my cuts individually, "Reveal in Project" to find the clip in the bin.
Then right click the clip in the bin, go to "source settings..."
Inside the source settings window, click "reload from RDM." Then "Ok"
Yes absolutely, both exporting the whole timeline and manually correcting individual clips works. This method is ideal for correcting a few clips. As for the amount of work for correcting your whole timeline, thats why you use the utility posted in the forums, that I have continually linked to and it will do it automatically. There are other reasons you wouldn't want to round trip your whole timeline as you're likely to loose auxilary information. Far better to correct each clip, save the rmd and use the utility to reload RMDs.

CONFIRMED: Editing in 5k epic footage the round trip works. Didn't realize older 4k R1 M would have trouble. Is there a way to update older R1 footage to work with RCX-Ppro round trip?
Did you save the RMD on every clip? The workflow between R1 and epic is the same. I just confirmed this. After the edit, whether I simply grade the clip in rcx, save the rmd, and reload it in premiere; or export the fcp xml from rcx and reimport I have the sequence with properly graded clips in premiere.

Working through it still, thanks Cory. It's good to know that it's not a software issue and I just have to use the right steps. It's been a fun adventure in software world the last few days, these tools are so powerful.
