Exactly. Don't assume everyone is doing the same work you do. In my world every ounce of additional weight is critical and is far more important than capacity.

You shouldn't have to wait 10 minutes for the battery to cool then 2:30 mintues to charge for a battery that can only give you 30 of power. Just that makes them useless on set.
I hear you, I'm hooked on the small foot print.

You do need a v-mount setup for serious production but the revolts are handy once in a while.
Yep, the small foot print is one of the epic/scarlets key advantages.

I know I am in the major minority, but I use exclusively redvolts. Either in the handle or the quad module. I have 12 and 4 chargers and I can go as long as needed.

I would not like being your AC... That doesn't annoy you having to use so many chargers and batteries?

I've gone the redvolt route too and although charging, swapping and having more elements can be frustrating, overall I've really liked it. I do mostly documentary work so I can't argue for using them on set, but in my experience I wouldn't want to switch to v-mount options.

I LOVE shooting on the scarlet with just the touch screen and side handle. I shot a short in England last month and I spent a day running around London with my Scarlet getting some b-roll and it was a blast. I even did some short time-lapses with it set at 5K 8FPS, yes it takes up A LOT of space, but having the increased DR and really simple post workflow for coloring is a HUGE plus. I'm definitely considering doing it more in the future.

If I start to get into more narrative work, that may change...will change...

It only takes about 2 hours to fully charge when they're completely spent. Same time as the Quad charger. Put 4-5 travel chargers on a power strip and you've got a DIY 4 or 5-bank charger. I've been getting 30-35 minutes shooting 5k at 24fps. It only takes about 2-3 minutes for them to cool down after they come off the camera. But you don't have to wait if you don't want. You can put them on a charger right off the camera and the charger will blink red and green until they cool down. Then after a couple minutes when they cool down, the charger will start charging them and it'll blink orange.

Loving the ability to strip the Epic down to the LCD, lens and side handle. I put that set up in a bag, hopped on the Metrolink and shot without anyone bothering me. The ticket guy even waited until I stopped shooting before asking me if I had a ticket. The cops at Union station in LA just watched me film without saying anything. Wouldn't have been as easy with bricks or as low profile. In other situations when low weight/profile isn't a concern, I put 4 in the quad mod and I'm good for 2 + hours and can hot swap. Redvolts give you more versatility. I was skeptical too before deciding to go the redvolt route but I haven't had one problem with them since last October.

Things will only get better as power management gets implemented and the +1 Monitor adaptor comes out that will have an auxiliary power out port.

100% agreed. RED Bricks or any other V-Mount/AB battery... why in the heck do people insist on these ridiculous Redvolts? LOL

And no... that's just 4 or 5 chargers, not a 4 or 5 bank charger

This thread is just a facet of what the Epic/Scarlet has enabled. The camera can be configured around what the user needs. Be happy...
