    Inspired by this post:

    http://blog.abelcine.com/2012/07/19/...er-or-monitor/

And a pissed off DP I worked with a few months ago who didn't seem to understand that the LCD touchscreen had buttons on the side that could make the screen brighter or darker and thus wanted to know "what the hell I'm really capturing," it got me thinking, so I ask you all (before I RTFM)...

What's the proper procedure for calibrating your Red Touchscreen? Similar to the Abel post above? Generate bars out of the system menus and adjust brightness/contrast/saturation? How often? Any horror stories?

    Cheers

I don't think you can "calibrate" it beyond setting the brightness. And I wouldn't use the touch screen for critical exposure evaluation, just like I wouldn't use the EVF or built in screen on any other camera be it digital video or digital cinema. I'd use the exposure tools the camera provides and a meter. If your DP doesn't know how to use any of those, I'd give him the camera manual to read or the choice of shooting with a handycam set to full auto.
