I'm reluctantly selling my Epic-X brain (plus titanium PL mount and side SSD)

The camera was bought from Red UK in November 2011, has been used only a few times and is in excellent condition. I'm selling as my business partner wants out and I can't afford to buy his share.

The camera is in London. I'm asking £24,900 ONO.

I think the price you have quoted is a little too high as you can get a brand new Epic for just a bit more

UK price on a new Epic-X will also include duty (rule of thumb add about 5% to the USA value - sometimes less, it depends on the item's import designation). REL deal with that when you purchase from them - so be careful on straight USD to GBP comparisons.

Plus there's VAT too - the seller hasn't indicated VAT inc/ex etc.

... and he did say ONO on his post

and this needs moving to the correct section too!

In fact the brand new price is £24,300 at current exchange rate! Yes there's import duty but also warranty exchange cost. I'm interested in an Epic and would definitely be interested in this, but only if it were at least 20% less than the new price.

My apologies for posting this in the wrong place, and also for posting and then not following up. I must have an old email registered on Reduser because I received no notification of these posts.

Anyway, while it may seem the price I'm asking is rather high, I've checked with Red UK and a new Epic-X brain currently retails for £25,980 plus VAT at 20 percent. Since I'm not asking for VAT, the price I'm asking actually represents a saving of £6276, or 24 percent, on the price of a new camera.

I'll be checking back here more often from now on if anyone would like to comment or make an offer.

As for moving the thread to the right place, can I do this or do I have to wait for an admin person to do it for me?

Sorry to ask but I am curious how are you selling it without Vat?

He is not VAT registered, he paid the VAT on purchase but did not claim it back so no VAT on a sale.

So the saving only works if you are not VAT registered either. A VAT registered buyer would be able to claim this back anyway.

That's correct. This would suit someone who's not VAT registered.
