    Hi
I write to know what is the best digital camera for use Kinoptik to 100%.
Because I read that cover the MFT and APSc format, but the results are soft.
At MFT you get a ~20mm wideangle lens equivalent, at the Sony NEX you get a 15mm lens.
On a full frame (Canon EOS 5D Mark II) is 9.8 mm?

    Thanks very much!

Maybe a back focus issue, but my experience is that the Tegia 9.8 and 5.7 are poor at best. In the bad old days of Kodak 5254 (circa 1970) when grain was the size of a football, those lenses still looked soft.

Thanks very much for your reply, Vance.
But on digital camera FF is 9,8mm?

If memory serves me correctly (been 40 years), the Tegia 9.8 covered 35mm acadamy aperature. Coverage will depend on sensor size. Hope this helps.

Thanks very much for your reply, Vance.
    Therefore:
    Tegea 9,8mm : 26mm diag
    35mm Academy : ~27mm diag.
Sony Nex : ~28mm diag. and from video on Youtube is good.
The Sony Nex is very close to a 35 Academy. Have you seen this video?

If I remember correctly, the 9.8 Kinoptik covers 4K on Red cameras, but not 5K. There is some slight vignetting and falloff at 4K, but its not bad. The lens is not the sharpest lens and it blooms a bunch wide open, but I really like the look of this lens at a T2.8-T5.6. I also use it on the AF-100 and GH2 all the time with great results. Its does make the field of view equal to about a 20mm on MFT, but it looks great! Good luck :)

    Yeah, that's a forklift tattoo. I wasn't always a cinematographer :)

    Hi Clint,
    Thanks for your reply.
But on MFT equal to about 20mm if you take for reference the 35mm Full Frame and then: 4/3 sensor = 2x9,8mm = 19,6mm.
The Kinoptik Tegea covers the 35mm Academy (~27mm diag.), so the reference is wrong with the 35mm Full Frame (43mm diag.).
    My reasoning is correct?
