  1. #1 R3D Data Manager - HELP!
Could somebody please help me, I have a job I need to leave for right away here and I was planning on using the trial version of R3D Data Manager and now I see they have changed it to a request based system just to use the trial!?

I Need the application file for Mac OS 6 or later for v6.4 of R3D so I can start my trial. I am going to purchase the program immediately upon being paid for the Job but I need it right away!

Anybody? dropbox or email or something?

    here you go:

let me know if it works, make sure to buy it when you're done if you like it. One of the best $79.00 I ever spent.

Might need to be updated, not sure.

    Step one, open finder
Step Two, drop R3D data Manager into the trash bin
    Step Three, Empty Trash.
    Step Four, Buy Shotput pro.

What don't you like about RDM Dan? I use both, just intrigued as to what you see are the benefits of shot-put over its format agnosticism?

My opinion is the opposite of Dan's. I had terrible problems with older versions of Shotput Pro that were inexcusably buggy, while R3DDM at the time, and ever since, has worked flawlessly for me and saved my bacon numerous times, especially in the bad old days of CF cards!

ShotPut Pro is functionally very good now - although I don't really like the interface.

Honestly, R3D Data manager Is just one of those programs you need to own if you are going to be handling Red footage. Also, by buying the software you help to ensure its continued support and existence. Well worth the money. I agree shot put pro can be useful but its is also a bit of a pain. I only use Shot Put pro when R3D data manager or Al3xa data Manager are not an option. R3D Data Manager is rock solid.

I agree that R3D Data Manager is the way to go. I got burned by ShotPut Pro on a Canon shoot. Didn't copy all of the files even though it said the copy was complete. It was a bug that was quickly fixed, but I haven't used it since then (Fall 2011). I was able to recover some of the lost footage, but not everything.
R3D Data manager on Red has never failed me!

    I completely disagree!

I used to think Shotput was okay, then I did a job where a bug in Shotput erased ALL footage from all destination drives!!!!!!!! Everything gone in an instant! I spent all night using data recovery tools to get the footage back. Shotput tech supports response was, we fixed that problem in the latest version. That is BS!!!!!! The tool should NEVER have the ability to delete everything on every destination drive!

AVOID SHOTPUT PRO!!!!!!!!!! Drag and drop is safer than Shotput Pro.
