High Speed photography or slo mo on a budget

Working on a concept for my reel that involves a shattered bottle in slow motion dramatically lit.

Unfortunately I cannot afford the $2-3000 day it would cost to rent a Phantom Flex.

Are there any other more affordable options for this type of work?

shoot 300fps with the Epic and then run it through twixtor ? I've seen some amazing results that way.

sony fs700 does pretty nice 240fps

Thanks. It looks like the FS700 would be the most affordable rental option though have my doubts as to whether 240fps is fast enough for the type of slo mo I need.
Perhaps in conjunction with Twixtor or if the camera has a 500fps mode at lower resolution.

Of course if budget were no concern( this is a spec project for my reel) I'd opt for the Phantom:)

TS3Cine is shooting 720fps and 720p. Not sure if it's out yet though...

It does have 480 but I wouldn't use it. Last week I shot 240 on the fs 100 alongside he epic at 120 and both looked really good. they ended up going with the 120fps for timing reasons but the Sony footage could have been used. I'll be able to post the commercial in about a week.

My advice would be to get the proper camera for the shot that you see in your head and forget about twixtor etc. This is your reel we're talking about and should look as good as you can make it.

Hey James,
I recently attended a workshop where a Olympus high speed camera was presented. The camera seems fairly solid, although the maximum resolution is 1280x1024. The cost of renting one is way below the phantom though. It might be what you're looking for.
