The Wizard of Oz is the very first film I remember seeing, and it really scared the crap out of me. And for days and nights afterward I had nigtmares about the flying monkeys. I think I was 8.

Now, of course, I think it is one of Hollywoods greatest treasures. And I also think Judy Garland was one of Hollywood's most beautiful women to ever grace the silver screen. I am very curious where they will go with this film, and really excited someone is doing a remake (I worked on one per contract, then this was announced so we canned it). This will be really big shoes to fill.

Heck, how many of us still say 'This isn't Kansas'?

This one is a prequel as far as I'm concerned. This is about Oz and his own travel to the land of magic. If "Oz" earns enough in box-office I imagine Disney will do a sequel with the script based on the existing novel (with Dorothy as a lead) and beyond. I really hope Raimi doing his best on this one.
