I've been having this recurring problem on my Scarlet. What happens is that mid way through a take, a bar of discoloration appears on the left side of the frame. This bar runs from top to bottom of the frame and appears to be a different color or saturation to the rest of the frame. I first noticed it when filming some recent interview footage. I was watching a monitor of the SDI feed and would see the bar flicker on and off occasionally. I first thought it might just be the SDI signal but I saw the same problem in my Red 5.0 touch monitor. The issue was also present in the R3D files when I watched them back through RCP. When it first occurred I was running the latest beta FW (can't remember the number but it was the one that added 1khd, 2khd etc) so I thought the problem may have been because of that but after installing 3.2.16 release build the problem persists.I first tried to replicate it at 4k resolution and after shooting for a bit it started to recur. I then tried 3k and couldn't get the problem to appear.
This got me thinking so I tried the 12fps at 5k option and sure enough I got the problem again but this time it took up even more of the left of frame than at 4k. This leads me to believe the issue is with the sensor and I'm only not seeing it at 3k because of the crop. Has anyone else had this issue? I'm pretty desperate as I have a lot of jobs on that need 4K resolution.
I've attached two pictures. The first shows an example at 4k from the interview material. I've bumped the contrast up a little so that the problem is more obvious. I know it's a small jpg but if you look hard you can see this bar at the left of frame where the red color is completely different to the rest of the frame.The second still shows the same problem whilst testing at 5k. I've pumped this up again and I apologise for the Jpeg compression but the bar is clearly visible on the left of frame, a yellowy color not present in the rest of the frame. The bar now takes up significantly more of the frame than the same problem at 4k.
