Hello Reduser community. I'm using this space to shamelessly plug this show I DP'd for the Nerdist's brand new youtube channel. The Tournament of Nerds! pits two comedians against each other to battle it out in heated debate. Their goal is to advance their character through a "March Madness" type bracket in hopes of being crowned the ultimate Nerd and have their character reign supreme. The first 4 videos air July 1st, and you can vote on which character you want to win.
I can promise you that the show is hilarious, and it looks great. If you like me, watch the show because if it gets enough views I'll get to shoot more episodes, and the rent will get paid (and I can buy more stuff for my Scarlet). It's a Win Win - you laugh, I get work.
This wasn't shot on RED because that wasn't the best tool for the job. We basically shot it like it was live show. It was a 5 Camera shoot shot on Panasonic HPX-500s. We shoot over 1TB of footage. Yeah 1TB of 1080i footage!! Since youtube viewers can vote on the winners we had to shoot every possible matchup combination. Plus we did some extra videos for you to watch after you vote.
