I would look at the Shape 7000 shoulder mount and slide the camera to the back of the plate.

Seriously, I'm curious, is there a particular reason you need to shoot that particular lens, handheld? The easy way to create such a rig would be to start by throwing away the 18-85 and selecting a more appropriate lens...

I once have operated a ARRI BL4 (a much bigger and heavier camera them the scarlet) with a Angenioux 25-250 (wich I believe is a little bigger and heavier them the RED 18-85) handheld (because the shot we where going for was a handheld zoom shot. It was not easy, but far from impossible. I used an ARRI shoulder mount (wich I don`t think they make anymore) very similar to the element technica one.
