  1. #1 HDMI and HD SDI output problem
I just buy a second hand R1 MX and i have some issues using the hdmi output and the hd sdi output. i use a small lilliput 7" monitor and nothing happen when i connect it on the R1 (no image) : I don't see anything speaking about a specific function to activate the hdmi on the user manual. Is there something to do to activate it ?

Other pb, when i connect an hd sdi monitor on the hd sdi out (out 1 or 2 or the 720p same pb) the image cut every 10 or 20 sec during 2 or 3 sec, is somebody here had this kind of issue ?

I really need to know if the camera have a problem or if there a specific thing to do before connecting external monitor...

    Thanks for your help.

I'd check is the MONITOR menu PREVIEW output setting - is it set for MENUS (DVI) or VIDEO (720p) ?

It will need to be in the latter to output 1280 x 720 progressive, if it's in the former it's 1280 x 848 and the HD-SDI output won't pass that and some LCD's won't lock up to that - although SXGA based computer monitors are perfectly happy with it.

Some monitors accept only PsF via HDMI, and RED delivers true progressive only.

No, that statement is about HD-SDI operating in 1080p, and 720p is always true progressive anyway.

What's more likely now is that some low cost HDMI monitors just don't wan't to lock up to anything.....

What's the model number of the HDMI monitor Jean?

I can't speak for Jean Christophe, but as I sold him the MX, i guess I could chime in. It has always worked with broadcast monitors. I never used the HDMI on the unit.

but, I think I have the same Lilliput monitor as yours Jean Christophe, and it won't sync to my red Epic either.

Is it the 1024x800 ? with the HDMI loops through on Lilliputuk ?
