To be honest, i'm in PAL-land, but i don't understand the urgency of this request. Whats the big problem with PAL? Speed it up, like it has been done for decades with film. Maybe RED should build that into RCX. Only PAL TV and DVD need those framerates, everything else can use 24p, 30p, 60p. And doesn't shooting in PAL speed produce problems with international markets? I see only one real reason to support 25p/50p and thats for live-tv, but honestly, i don't see scarlet as a perfect live-cam. I'm just interested to hear why you pros really need 25p. ;)
It's about time to allow more framerates in the next DVB-standards, limiting european digital tv only to PAL-speed was a big mistake...
BTW, there has been talk about a HDRx-update in the future, which would allow to enable HDRx without sacrificing framerate. This could give us 4k 25p HDRx... We just have to wait. ;)
