    Hi David,

Great looking stills, very strong and atmospheric - did you have any noise issues in the blacks? What ISO did you use?

Sorry guys, I don't have any production stills but I have to say without the Coollight panels it would have been a pretty tough shoot. We thought about taking a Kino 2 bank down with us but the fact that we had a couple of IDX batteries in our pockets for the Coollights meant we were so portable and quick at setting up. No stands need either as we held them or sat them in nooks and crannies - brilliant.

Richard (Coollights) feel free to use these on your site for promotional purposes if you like. Just credit me (David Baumber) and your good to go - use them as you see fit :)

Below is a picture of 'Sketchy' my Pervuvian Velvet Stick Insect. It's his first time on RED Epic and performed well.

We had spare white overalls and a space helmet (as you do) and had a bit of fun :)

    We shot 800 ISO. Canon's 24mm 1.4, 50mm 1.4 and 85mm 1.2mm so pretty fast lenses. Red Code 6:1 48fps (project 23.97)

Noise - yes a little but not a lot. My exposure's were a little off sometimes and I should have used the RED Tools exposure check more often for sure. I used Neat Video quite a lot as my work isn't for broadcast and it's just a dream come true. It saves me almost every time!

If you want to know what good underground footage that 'takes you there' should look like, watch the mine scenes from 'Edge of Darkness' (the original BBC version, which committed art, NOT the Gibson movie!)

Dave, looks really good. Thanks for posting. We have been using similar LEDs underground and also some Iwasaki PAR CDM par bulbs. I remember Edge of Darkness, It was in production when I was in the BBC but that was over 20 years ago.

This is awsome. I shot a bunch underexposed stuff last night. Came out with a bunch of noise.. Don't really know where to start.

Very cool shots! Super tough to get proper exposure in those situations. Bryan, try using some noise reduction software, such as Neatvideo.

Whoa, can't wait to see this stuff in motion. Those stills look insanely clean.
