CS6 PP and AME Not Exporting Red Scarlet Project! It keeps stalling less than a quarter into the render! :(

    I have a 2009 8-core Mac Pro with 8gb Ram & Nvidia GTX285 2GB Graphics card

I'm thinking the issue might be with the graphics card possibly, but I have not had a chance to disable the mercury playback engine and try that yet as I just read that might help....

I never once had this issue in CS5 with Red One footage using my older Radeon HD 4850 512mb and software mercury playback engine.

Hopefully I can figure this mess out, any advice would be much appreciated!

What are you trying to export it as? You may want to try and intermediate codec first...pro res...then do your compression export.

Thanks for the advice but I have already tried this as well. I'm going to try and do the reboot method without ever opening Premiere Pro and go straight to the encoder to see if this helps at all. I'm also switching the Mercury Playback Engine to (software only) to see if that helps any. If that does not work I will switch graphics cards and see if that does the trick. Keep your fingers crossed!

    Hi Adam,

Please feel free to contact me for help or questions and please let me know if software rendering fixes the issue. I'm guessing that it will. Do you have a Quadro card that you could try?

    Hi Wes!

Thanks for you support. I sincerely hope it fixes my issues as well. Unfortuantely all I have in terms of graphics cards is a Nvidia GTX285 2GB Graphics card and an older Radeon HD 4850 512mb.

    Thanks,

    Adam,
I'm assuming you're trying a software render right now?

Feel free to give me more specifics on your project and your computer. Is it 5k, 4k? What are your timeline settings? Are you scaling your media? Are you using filters in PR? Are you using any 3rd party filters?

i have run into this problem before, it seems that the RED files don't mix so well with titling and effects. During rendering. and it freezes at those points.
One solution is to render a cut clean with just cuts. and then add the effects and titling to that render.

I know this is not a good solution.
Anybody got a better solution please post here.

Yeah, it's a total bitch. I changed the Mercury Playback Engine to (Software Only) that allows the render to make progress. I even got 95% done one time, but then it crashes with an "Unknown error!" and tells me "Error Compiling Movie". Any help would be greatly appreciated!

try a reinstall. Fixed major issues I was having with Premier. Then, make sure to update. :-)
