As the meme says: Shut up and take my money ;)
Was hoping that the "no internal ethernet/fw800" rumors were wrong, but this way (adapters) we can live with it.
So its the time to screw the mac pro and take this one ;)
is there any information about the two TB ports? 2 lanes or one?

Anyone else sad to see the 17" go away?

With that resolution you could easily have gone to a 27" screen, (a la iMac) but with a 15" frame dimension I doubt the human eye's ability to fully appreciate it.

    Not really, I don't like 17" ...
But for that resolution it would be of use...

This is totally not what I was waiting for, Mac , you have dissapointed me once again... I know you can do MUCH better.... common, al the other manufacturers have a system up to date, you had so much more time, less pressure....and still you couldn't pull it off..

Personally after having a HP laptop with pressure-sensitive Wacom pen support and touchscreen support, I'm not interested in downgrading to this :P

But then I do a lot of storyboarding and also flipping through scripts, etc.

Hopefully Apple fixes this for next year's model?

SSDs will be much cheaper by then anyway and there will be nVidia GPUs with good computer capabilities... so should be good!

Each Thunderbolt connector on any system, regardless of how many there are on the motherboard, are always dual-channel.

I meant the PCI-E lanes not the 2 Channels each Thunderbolt port has.
Furthermore I wanted to know how many external GPUs, RedRocket, I/O can be added.

I want to know this as well... are the two ports on the same card or are they each capable of 2 10gbps channels simultaneously?

I went ahead and ordered the 2.7 as this is going to be my ONLY machine and the extra L3 Cache should theoretically improve Photo and Video rendering....
