Good point! Being tired and frustrated can impair ones logic and reasoning. This is a dedicated editing machine running only Windows 7 and Adobe Creative Suite 6 Production Premium. Hardware is as follows:
Intel Core I7 3930K 3.2 GHZ (x12)
64 GB Crucial RAM
Seagate 2 TB 7200 RPM SATA
EVGA GTX580 3072 MB
Intel 120GB SATA SSD
Corsair 1200 W PSU
I have confirmed that it is not related to pushing footage/debayer settings as the program will lock up without even bringing any footage in, like just clicking a settings tab for example. All other Adobe software works fine.
Hi Wendell,
Sorry you're having issues. I edit as well and I know it's no fun.
I'm very surprised to see you having issues with such a nice, new machine.
Most issues that I have been assisting with are related to slightly older macs and many issues have been specific to the GTX285 video cards... they just seem to not have quite enough oomph to deal or enough VRAM to churn through large RED frame sizes.
However, RED editing performance is SOLID. I think there is something specific to your machine.
Could you try one thing? Could you disable CUDA and see if you're still having the issue? Also, after you've tried this, please reach out to me at the e-mail I provided in this thread.
Best,
Wes Howell

Hi Wes,
Thanks for the reply. I am on the road but when i return this weekend I will give your suggestion a go.
Wendell
There were some conflicts with the video card drivers. That along with reloading the software fixed the problem. Working perfectly now.
Thanks for your help Wes.
Hi Wendell,
You are welcome! Thanks for letting me know. Glad you're up and running and finally able to enjoy your machine!
Best,
Wes
